At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
The Opportunity…
Inventory Management is a critical element of the HPC project, and delays to the availability of equipment may result in a significant construction, schedule, and compliance risk.
As an Inventory Management Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of equipment storage, including the supporting policies and procedures, to ensure that Hinkley Point C equipment is handled, stored in suitable conditions, managed appropriately in line with manufacturers recommendations and the associated information is tracked adequately.
You will support the execution of the Warehouse Service, employing a competent team to supervise and control storage activities at HPC to store and manage over £3billion worth of equipment and materials.

What you’ll be doing…
Supporting the contract management of the Storage and Warehouse operations contract, consisting of approximately 50 - 75 staff and specialist contractor personnel.- Developing and execute effective strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan.
- Providing planning, management and supervision to deliver safe and effective inventory management for HPC assets.
- Developing Inventory Management governance arrangements, where required, to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, project commitments and company policies.
- Providing technical advice on Inventory Management for the procurement of the HPC storage and warehouse operations services.
- Promoting the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency throughout the Site Operations team.
- Ensuring that the inventory management process meets nuclear, environmental and industrial safety regulatory requirements.
- Preparing monthly reports for each work stream including safety performance, performance against SLAs, performance against KPIs, financial reporting, project forecasting and forward planning.
Who you are…
Your background may include some of the following:
BSc Degree qualified or equivalent experience.- Significant experience of working within the inventory management field.
- Substantial warehousing experience including receipt and despatch of goods.
- Experience of working in a high security environment.
- Long term perspective. Ability to develop a strategy and deliver it.
- Proven track record of delivery within a large project environment.
- Excellent communication skills and experience of positive stakeholder engagement, internally and externally.
- Experience of complex Industrial Relations within the context of a nuclear construction project.
- Experience of working with and developing similar sized packages of work relating to expected budget of up to £50m is desirable.
