The Inventory Controller Role
Working as a member of our local procurement team, your role will support the site at which you are based whilst upholding the company wide National procurement strategy. Within this role you will manage inventory effectively ensuring appropriate stock availability to meet customer service levels, meet working capital expectations, utilise space and margin optimisation.
Inventory Controller Key Duties
To manage inventory effectively.
Develop strong relationships & communicate effectively with management, procurement, logistics and sales.
Manage and achieve stock KPI’s
Work in a constructive manner and promote co-operation between departments and other sites.
Identify areas for margin improvement or reducing inventory value &/or space and liaise with management to action accordingly.
Be aware of the profit implication of poor stock management, including redundant/damaged stock and incurring unnecessary costs e.
To purchase standard and non-standard stock items, maintaining cost effective stock levels appropriate to expected customer service levels.
Manage the stock database of aged and invoiced stock in line with customer agreements, identify areas for improvement and liaise with management to implement
Manage Goods In delivery schedule & confirm GRN’s
Develop a full understanding of the total supply chain function
Ensure that the site purchasing transactions are carried out in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
Administer purchase orders and all other associated administration.

Do you have the correct profile?
We certainly welcome your application if you have gained experience of working within a commercial environment and can demonstrate transferable skills including negotiation, communication and customer service. Please note no prior experience within procurement or purchasing is necessary as full training and a clear pathway for development will be provided. As a minimum requirement, we do also seek strong computer literacy (MS Office to include Excel spreadsheets) & strong attention to detail. You will also ideally have some previous experience of working within a small office-based team.
