Interns & Associates – Private Equity Value Creation Consulting
We are a rapidly growing consulting boutique, focused on Commercial Excellence, Pricing & Digital work for Private Equities and their portfolio firms. At impulssum, we aim to create lasting impact through data-driven & customer-centric strategic advice. We combine a top-tier management consulting approach with a strong focus on pragmatically increasing customer centricity. We operate both on C-level, to set strategic direction, as well as on ground level, to get things done. Currently, we are 6 FTE (most in Amsterdam) and are looking for Interns & Associates to strengthen our team.
We cover a broad range of strategic management services, with core focus on Commercial Excellence topics such as Value Based Pricing, Customer Experience, Portfolio development or Commercial Strategy. We strongly collaborate with Private Equities. You will have direct exposure to leading PEs and help them drive value creation projects for their portfolio. Our aim is not to create hundreds of slides, but to structure and build value adds for our clients. We focus on mid-market, where pragmatic delivery is key. You will work in an entrepreneurial environment, join early on and shape impulssum’s future together with us.
Typical duties include:
- Support one or several value creation projects
- Own the analysis and drive insights generation
- Break down and structure the customer problem
- Design and conduct interviews
- Create conclusions and support on presenting back to the client
- Support workshops and meetings
- Create storylines & presentations for workshops, workgroups, SteerCos, etc
- Contribute to the wider business through business development, knowledge sharing, coaching and other activities
We are located both in Amsterdam and London. You can work remotely for a large part, and we try to come together in a local office 1-2 days a week. For important meetings we also spend some time on-site with the client.
Skills & Experience
- Previous (strategy) consulting experience from either a strategy consulting firm, Private Equity or the strategy / business development function in a corporate
- Strong technical skills in MS PowerPoint & Excel, and experience with analyses such as Market & Competitor (market sizing, drivers and dynamics, competitive intensity, etc.), Customer Analysis (segmentation, customer journeys) and
Internal Analysis (capabilities, business model review, financial assessment)
- Good people and client management skills, including an understanding of how to communicate with clients of different backgrounds and opinions
- Evidence of contributing to the wider team and leading business development opportunities
- Interest in commercial topics (not necessarily experience)
