Job Summary
THE ROLE – International Projects and Interior Design Officer
Brighton College International is seeking to appoint an International Projects and Interior Design Officer (IPIDO) to assist the Projects Director with all aspects of the design process, from initial consultation to project completion.
ROLE SPECIFICATION
The International Projects and Interior Design Officer (IPIDO) will support our international partners in developing and maintaining high quality international schools for Brighton College across the globe. Currently, these schools are in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Bangkok, Singapore and Hanoi, with several more planned in the years ahead.
SALARY
The salary for this role with be between £55,000-£60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
HOURS AND ANNUAL LEAVE
08:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday with 1 hour for lunch.
5 weeks of holiday per year
Subject to operational requirements, additional days may be awarded during the period between Christmas and New Year

SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS
The ideal candidate will have good technical/design skills and the ability to communicate well with partners, both written and oral. An experience in one or more of the following is also required; interior design building project management, architecture and/or construction. The post holder should be exceptionally organised, methodical and professional, with a good grasp of how to liaise with project and maintenance teams in a variety of cultures.
Skills and Characteristics Required
- Qualifications and experience in the field of architecture, interior design or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or other relevant software, or the willingness and ability to be trained up.
- Ability to use CAD software to produce detailed computer-generated designs.
- A willingness to travel extensively in support of projects.
- Knowledge of Revit design software for modelling buildings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate with and motivate partners in order to maintain positive working relations.
- A strong sense of functionality, aesthetics and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about expanding Brighton College globally with a desire to understand the Brighton College DNA.
- Cultural sensitivity.
- A strong team player with the willingness to understand the needs and issues facing all BCI stakeholders.
- The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced working environment with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Creative and innovative with a determination to see tasks through from beginning to end.

Desirable Skills and Characteristics:
- A degree in architecture, interior design or a related field.
- Experience working in a project design team.
- Sound knowledge of modern architectural principles, equations and processes.
- An understanding of how to design buildings that are energy efficient and meet environmental standards/ regulations.
- An appreciation of how to design projects to preserve local environmental concerns etc.
- Excellent knowledge of modern construction methods, processes and materials.
- Understanding of how to oversee construction sites and resolve problems during the building phase of a project.
- Keeping a project running on time, to agreed BCI standards and within budget.
