Location: UK Flexible (Home working with the requirement to attend the London office every six weeks)

About the role…
As International HR Assistant you will join the International People and Learning Team which provides strategic, operational and advisory HR and L&D support to the International Directorate.
You will be responsible for the provision of HR administrative support to the recruitment and deployment of overseas staff including arranging advertising, shortlisting, briefing meetings, visas, travel plans, medicals, insurance, expenses, contracts, budgets and debrief meetings.
You will be required to progress HR transactions, ensuring offer letters, contracts of employment, variations to contracts of employment, pay changes are processed accurately in accordance with agreed timescales, while dealing with pay queries and liaising with payroll and HR Advisors regarding any issues that arise.
You will support the International HR Advisor as required in the event of a deployment of one of the Emergency Response Units or surge personnel. This involves coordinating arrangements from confirmation of deployment through to debrief follow up and includes planning briefing meetings, visas, travel arrangements, expenses, contractual information and insurance provision.
On a rotational basis with the other HR Assistants, deal with the weekly/monthly shared HR administrative tasks and provide an out of hours on-call service one week in every four to support both the sourcing and deployment of Rapid Response personnel from the BRC emergency talent pools and emergency duty of care support to staff working overseas.

You have Excellent administration and organisational skills, including attention to detail and maintaining up-to-date and accurate records, ideally gained within an HR Assistant / HR Administration role
You have experience of and competency in financial administration including using spreadsheets and, as applicable, budget preparation and management along with experience of providing customer or client support and advice and working with databases and record keeping systems
You can demonstrate a proven ability to prioritise and manage work effectively in a fast-paced environment, to deliver on time and in full against specific objectives along with resilience and flexibility, with ability to adapt to rapidly changing needs.
If you have knowledge of HR operations in an international context and knowledge or an interest in the Red Cross or the international humanitarian sector this will be a distinct advantage as will CPP or equivalent (or a willingness to work towards this).
