Main purpose of role:
To partner with the business, finance, IT and Multichannel teams across the Group to enhance the quality of the controls environment.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the controls managers in partnering with the business and Group IT and Multichannel teams to identify improvements in controls and ensure control deficiencies are tracked and remediated in agreed timelines.
- Lead the controls stream on Business and IT led projects.
- Support the end-to-end internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) programme.
- Lead the tracking and reporting of ICFR control deficiencies.
- Document key financial processes end-to-end, identifying risks and controls and creating a suitable matrix.
- Support the rollout of the internal controls framework to new acquisitions in the Group
Qualifications & Experience
- Accounting qualification – ACA/ACCA or equivalent
- Audit experience, preferably controls-testing focus – minimum of 7 years/
- Exposure to and an effective understanding of internal controls over financial reporting and controls testing.
- Be a strong communicator and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across various teams
- Strong Excel skills
- An understanding of IT systems and operation will be helpful
