Internal Audit – Stock Co-ordinator
Reports to:
Stock Auditor
Brief:
We are looking for an Internal Audit - Stock Co-ordinator to work with the Internal Audit function at UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd. The Internal Audit Team will have an objective, innovative approach to the governance and risk management of the UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd businesses.
Purpose
q The focus of Internal Audit work at UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd is driven by the protection of revenue and the safeguarding of assets at all Profit Centres and Service Centres.
q This role will assist the Stock auditor in the successful delivery of the annual stocktake program and other reactive work arising during the year.
Key Responsibilities
q Plan and maintain an effect Stocktake programme across the business.
q Co-Ordinate/Conduct Stocktake observations, with Regional Directors. Internal audit to attend 25% of stocktakes.
q Gather all relevant information from Manager’s/observers post stocktake.
q Maintain a Stocktake database and schedule.
q Analysis of stocktake results and ensure subsequent investigations are carried out as required.
q Perform effective remote audits using the defined audit programme, being objective in determining where further work outside of the initial scope may be required.
q Review the integrity of stock polices and procedures and highlight the need for review/creation of those policies.
q Create and maintain stock risk register, based on stocktake results, operational audit score, stock adjustments and any other stock related activity.
q Liaise with IA assistant to co-ordinate general auditors’ activity to test stock integrity based on stock risk register.
q Act as an objective source of independent advice for UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd colleagues and the UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd businesses.
q Ensure compliance with UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd company policies and best practice, consulting on the adequacy and appropriateness of the company policies as and when required.
q Liaise with the Business Systems team and the Regional Service Centres to obtain useful data for analysis and interpretation.
q Assist with the development and effective operation of the Internal Audit team through innovative ways of working and sharing best practice.
q Maintain awareness of latest regulation changes and updates affecting the sector which may warrant an update in local policies.
q Foster effective working relationships within the Internal Audit team, other UK Plumbing Supplies Ltd colleagues but also employees at the Regional Service Centres and Profit Centres.
q Preparation and delivery of ad hoc, monthly and quarterly audit reports, presenting actions to improve risk management, safeguard assets and generate revenue and cost savings.
q Track follow up audits to monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of management actions.
q Perform any other tasks deemed appropriate by the Internal Audit Manager to support the business.
Skills / Experience (Essential)
q Minimum two years working within an Internal Audit environment, stock admin role or similar role.
q Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Specifically Excel.
q Full Driving Licence.
Skills / Experience (Desired)
q Use of audit software to document and report on audits.
q Health and safety qualifications and/or experience of working within a health and safety environment.
q Performed and/or observed stocktakes at a similar business.
q Familiarity with data analysis techniques/software.
q Knowledge of the plumbing and heating industry and/or how a plumbing merchant operates.

q Extremely competent in report writing with good Excel Skills.
q Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing competing priorities.
q Comfortable working and travelling alone, or with colleagues.

Salary: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
