Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Accounts Payable
· Input vendor invoices, ensure proper authorization of invoices prior to payment, and process timely payment of invoices.
· Reconcile credit card accounts and ensure proper documentation of charges.
· Review expense reports and ensure proper authorization and documentation are included.
· Monitor A/P aging reports to ensure timeliness of vendor payments.
· Maintain vendor files.
· Respond to vendor inquiries.
· Prepare annual 1099 forms.
· Maintain petty cash fund.
· Manage software renewals and payments.
· Perform or assist in the daily, weekly and monthly tasks related to A/P.
Billing and Accounts Receivable
· Input all client-related expenses into billing and accounting software.
· Post time, prepare reports, and review time entry on a weekly and monthly schedule.
· Provide billing information to Office Managers and assist with the billing process.
· Prepare monthly A/R aging reports and customer account statements.
· Manage the collection process.
· Maintain client billing files.
· Handle client billing inquiries as appropriate.
· Intake client payments and record daily cash receipts. Prepare and distribute daily cash receipts reports.
· Perform or assist in the daily, weekly and monthly tasks related to Billing and A/R.
Payroll and Benefits
· Review employee time reports for accuracy.
· Prepare semi-monthly payroll for review.
· Ensure accurate processing of all payroll withholdings and benefits.
· Review payroll reports for accuracy.
· Assist in preparation of W-2 forms.
· Manage payroll vendor relationship.
· Assist with processing 401(k) documents.
· Maintain and distribute Chargeability tracking sheet and CHIP spreadsheets.
· Prepare bonus schedules and individual comp sheets.
General Accounting
· Provide back-up coverage to the Firm Accountant as needed.
· Prepare other reports as requested.
· Assist in preparation of annual tax filings.
· Reconcile bank accounts and maintain banking relationships.
· Prepare detailed information for surveys, insurance renewals, and other required documents.
· Maintain Practice Management database.
Client Work
· The Internal Accountant may assist clients with bookkeeping, quarterly payroll tax returns, 1099 form preparation, and other tasks.
As part of the B+Co Ops Team, the Internal Accountant will also collaborate with other team members and provide necessary support across the firm as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
· Experience with basic accounting procedures including A/R, A/P, G/L, P/R.
· Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong customer service focus, for both internal and external clients
· Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects and deadlines, exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
· Must have strong skills in organization, planning and problem-solving. Must exhibit the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Must be organized and efficient with superior attention to detail
· Requires proven ability to manage projects and follow through
· Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications. (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat required. Demonstrated high level of skill in advanced Excel is required.

· Must be technology savvy, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required.
· Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a professional services environment.
· Demonstrated experience with accounting software such as Sage/Peachtree or Quickbooks, and payroll systems (ADP, Paychex).
· Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
