Responsibilities:
As an Intern with Hines, you will support the ESG Team in coordinating and implementing ESG policies, programmes and initiatives across the Hines European real estate platform and working with broader Hines teams to successfully advance our ESG strategy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the collection and analysis of ESG data including liaising with local country asset management teams and consultants.
- Support the preparation of ESG reporting at asset, portfolio and/or fund level in line with industry standards and benchmarks.
- Support in implementing ESG initiatives including certification.
- Coordinate the creation, update and tracking of asset Sustainability Assessment and Action Plans.
- Assist in the preparation of ESG materials for internal and external stakeholders including case studies and marketing materials.
- Support with the preparation of responses to investor ESG requests and due diligence questionnaires.
- Establish and maintain relationships with broad Hines teams: local country asset managers, portfolio management, fund management, marketing, human resources, compliance, engineering and capital markets.
Minimum requirements are:
- Bachelor degree, ideally in Environmental Studies, Construction Management, Structural Engineering or Real Estate Management or related subject matter.
- Relevant work experience in ESG and/or real estate would be an advantage
- Driven, rigorous, flexible, versatile and with good people skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrable interest, awareness and understanding of ESG topics.
- Capable of working with many different constituencies within a matrix organisation.
- Strong organisational, communication, problem solving skills, able to prioritise and work independently.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, have a strong command of verbal and written English.
- A second language will be considered as an asset.
