Intern, SME Finance & Development
Role description:
Under the supervision of the Financial Products team within the SME Finance & Development Group, the intern may support joint advisory and finance programmes. In general, the role will entail a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Contribute to the development of a number of blended finance products aimed at SME development and financial inclusion
- Data gathering, research and providing background information into specific areas of project preparation and/or monitoring.
- Provide support to the team members working on fundraising to mobilise adequate donors' resources for the Group’s needs, either from bilateral or multilateral donors
- Organisation and support to the management of upcoming events or workshops in the EBRD region of operation
- Active coordination between different teams in the EBRD and with external consultants.
- Preparation of outreach materials and ad-hoc briefings when needed
- Drafting specific assigned portions of EBRD documents and correspondence.
- Ad hoc assignments as requested
Key skills required:
- Passion to learn and grow in EBRD
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially good command over Microsoft Excel
- Proven analytical and numerical skills
- Very good written (report writing, correspondence) and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Ability to work independently
Education/Experience required:
- 6 month -3+ years of business finance or other relevant experience
- good relevant degree from a leading university preferably in Economics, Finance, Business, Development Studies
- computer literacy
- Good understanding of and interest in financial inclusion issues of SMEs in emerging markets
- some relevant commercial experience
