Amanda Hanley by Design is a family-run lifestyle showroom in the heart of the Cotswolds. We offer a bespoke interior design service, with an extensive showroom collection, alongside our deli with exceptional artisan foods and wine.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Interior Design Assistant at Amanda Hanley by Design. The successful candidate will be passionate about interior design, highly motivated, and thrive in a sales-driven, sophisticated, and fun environment.
Based at our stunning showroom on Burford High Street, you will be a key member of our dynamic and fast-growing team, assisting with a wide range of residential projects, including listed Victorian and Georgian townhouses, cottages, manor houses and lakeside retreats across the Cotswolds.
This role is available on a part-time or full-time basis, 9 am - 5 pm hours. We are looking for someone who ideally lives locally, drives and would be able to start as soon as possible. Salary is subject to experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for client projects, referring to the team as often as required to support your role, ensuring client files are kept up to date with overall project progress.
- Carrying out all tasks efficiently, ensuring completion to the highest of standards.
- Assist with designing room layouts, lighting plans, perspectives and visualisations.
- Process estimates, quotes, and invoices for customers.
- Place and confirm orders with suppliers. Oversee supplier production, monitor quality, and coordinate delivery slots.
- Ensure the showroom, interior furniture, accessories, and display items are well presented.
- Communicate with interior suppliers and maintain the showroom library, ensuring all the pattern books are organised and priced correctly.
- Learn about our suppliers, different ranges, and collections.
- Follow up on enquiries and assist customers to help generate sales.
- Develop customer relationships with clients, building trust and confidence.
- Order samples and create mood boards, sample boards and schemes according to the client’s requirements, style, and budget.
- Assist with interior styling within our showroom displays and across client projects.
- Contribute suggestions for social media and marketing.
- Attend trade events to develop knowledge and network with key suppliers.
- Participate in and contribute to staff meetings and training.
- Ensure the office remains organised and up to date so that it is left immaculate at the end of the day.
Requirements
- An interior design-related qualification.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and Procreate.
- Competent IT skills, including Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- An eye for colour and design.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Well-presented and professional manner.
- Proactive in contributing and helping as much as possible.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Proven organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- A passion for interior design and a willingness to learn and grow as a designer.
- A positive, proactive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude.
