Job description
The client is a leading multinational organisation with several sites across the UK. Due to sustained growth and business change, they are now looking to recruit an interim logistics general manager to join their team for approximately 3 months.
You will be responsible for managing a small manual pick, pack despatch operation in the West Midlands area with a team of approximately 40 employees. Your team will comprise of warehouse operatives, supervisors, team leaders and a small fleet 15 vehicles. The operation works across both two shifts and it is imperative that the successful candidate has hands-on shop floor leadership experience in warehousing environments, and any transport experience would be an advantage though not a prerequisite.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a proven record in managing warehousing operations across either retail, fmcg, manufacturing or, within 3PL environments. You will have good attention to detail, a passion for continuous improvement on the shop-floor and be an excellent communicator, thus being able to coach, mentor, influence and lead from the front.
