The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to support Paddle's strategic accounting integration and partnering with our current Financial Operations and FP&A teams to optimally position our control and positioning of accounting structure, reconciliations and reporting. This is a unique opportunity where our finance team also works closely with our product and engineering team to build our product, and ensure global compliance. You will report into the VP Finance working towards our strategic team goals. Please note this role is being offered as a 3 month FTC with the possibility of extension.
What you'll do:
- Support onboarding a new company acquired unto our existing accounting structure and controls.
- Partner with our financial controller to streamline processes, optimise operations, enhance controls and compliance.
- Grow towards full interim finance and accounting coverage
- Offer leadership to the accounting team, support strategic direction, audit deliverables, automation and optimisation of the existing processes according to GAAP.
- Support drive continuous improvement to our accounting closing period and reporting deliverables
- Partner with Treasury and FP&A to support cash flow analysis and critiques.
- Develop and report KPIs. Report actual vs. budgeted/planned results as required.
- Hiring, training, and retaining accounting staff. Oversee and direct all aspects of the accounting function and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all data relating to AP and AR, payroll, GL, account reconciliations, and expense variance analysis.
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have proven experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager
- Have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - CPA or MBA preferred (not required)
- Have a strong focus on controls and processes and a high attention to detail.
- Have experience in building and managing a high performing team.
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to our fast-changing environment.
- Are passionate about solving problems and always identifying opportunities for improvement
- Are passionate about people, processes, automation, scalability and innovation.
