Description
You will support the Treasury & Financial Reporting Manager with the financial reporting for a dynamic and evolving multi-million-pound turnover business. You will support in the control, reconciliation and integrity of the general ledger and the production of all financial reporting.
The candidate will have the scope to identify necessary process, control, and procedural changes,
and then design and implement those changes, to improve the efficiency and financial control of our evolving business.
This is a 6-month contract to help support the current engineering activities of the team.
What are the Required Skills?
- Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
- Business type and industry: Experience of working in a busy finance department in a commercial business. Retail finance experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- IT skills: Strong Excel skills are essential; experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be an advantage.
What will a typical day look like?
- Timely and accurate reporting of financial results and data on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, in line with the group timetable and also in response to ad-hoc requests.
- Maintenance of the balance sheet, including monthly review of all reconciliations and identification of any areas of risk or concern.
- Maintenance of the Chart of Accounts.
- Cashflow forecasting.
- Co-ordination of the annual audit.
- Review of UK and international VAT return data on a monthly basis.
- Liaison with the external tax teams regarding corporation tax, VAT, and employment taxes.
- Statutory and governmental reporting.
- Documentation and improvement of processes, procedures and controls on an ongoing basis to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Liaison with auditors, banks, group, external stakeholders and other third parties, as necessary.
Salary and Benefits
We’re offering a rate of up to £330 per day for the right person, which we assess based on your own experiences, technical skills and against the principles of our department and our ways of working.
