We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic RVNs to join our night nursing team to work specifically supporting the ICU facility!
Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists is a large multidisciplinary referral hospital providing veterinary referral services across the South of England including London and the Thames Valley. Our services include Emergency and Critical Care, Orthopaedic surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, and Diagnostic Imaging. The hospital is an ISFM gold feline clinic and was awarded the BVHA design award for an outstanding working environment. We are part of CVS (UK) Ltd, the largest provider of integrated veterinary services in the UK; the referrals division currently operates eight referral hospitals in the UK and Ireland.
Most recently, we have been developing a brand new, state of the art ICU facility. Successful applicants would predominantly manage the cases in the ICU overnight. The facility includes a separate feline area, purpose built kennelling and high dependency area. State of the art equipment includes an ICU ventilator, high flow nasal oxygen machine and oxygen kennels; this ensures we are able to provide for and support a multitude of critical patient needs.
The role:
This role would be suitable for RVN's looking to enhance their nursing skills in a referral hospital setting, incorporating inpatient care, emergency and critical-care nursing.
As a ward nurse you will be working in a dedicated, supportive team of RVNs, alongside PCAs and a specialist-led team.
You will be exposed to varied levels of nursing care including looking after patients from our multi-disciplinary team, which include ECC, Neurology, Soft Tissue, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Diagnostics, Cardiology and Dermatology.
We have four different wards consisting of a large dog ward, a day dog ward, a separate cat ward and a brand new ICU ward.
We support further professional development with a number of our nursing team having postgraduate qualifications. We also offer in-house CPD and training throughout your time here at Lumbry Park.
Your rota can be flexible, we offer varied shifts, examples of some current shift patterns are 7 on 7 off and 3 - 4 shifts per week, we would be happy to discuss this at length and we would also welcome and consider part time applications
