Job description
We currently have an opportunity to join Nottinghamshire Police Force Intelligence with a permanent post for the role of Intelligence Support Officer based at Force HQ. The shift pattern includes 1 weekend working every 4 weeks (weekend working allowance of 21.1%.). All other shifts are day shifts.
Working within Force Intelligence, you will provide intelligence support to the wider intelligence unit and the Force, including the receipt, initial assessment and processing of intelligence ensuring the integrity of the intelligence system. You will evaluate information, quality assure and identify links/connections before ensuring that the intelligence is appropriate disseminated internally and externally to other agencies, providing feedback and advice to officers where required.
You will assess information coming into the Intelligence Support Unit to identify the threat, risk and harm to take appropriate action, in line with Force priorities. The post holder must have the confidence to use their own initiative and judgement on confidential and sensitive issues, and possess the ability to make decisions in areas such as officer safety and evidential assessment, referring issues where necessary.
Work will involve the use of a wide variety of I.T. software applications to retrieve, update and compare data and perform the necessary administrative functions. Applicants must have experience of both researching information from a variety of sources, as well as interrogating, maintaining and utilising data on a variety of computerised systems. Applicants should have a good understanding of database or record management systems/IT applications. The ability to work both as part of a team, as well as alone, is a key requirement.
