Intelligence Development and Investigation (IDI) Manager
Glasgow
As a Barclays Intelligence Development and Investigations (IDI) Manager, you will be joining the Financial Crime team, and assist in the execution of the IDI’s core objectives. This is a great opportunity for you to be part of a team where you will be supporting your colleagues to accomplish the IDI’s mission by mitigating financial crime risks facing Barclays through an intelligence-led approach. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and public-private partners to leverage bank-wide intelligence, data and analytics.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. • Handling the delivery of the core objectives, and responding to financial crime threats emerging from geo-political events
- Ensuring identified areas of priority across all IDI ongoing projects are resourced appropriately
- Conducting multiple complex and high profile investigations, as well as the development of complex intelligence cases using internally and externally gathered data
- Leading and providing excellent stakeholder engagement, enabling senior and key stakeholders to successfully discharge their responsibilities and accountabilities
- Assisting in ensuring the outcomes from investigations and intelligence led activity are fed-back to the Strategic Intelligence hub within IDI and embedded in the business
- Working closely with external partners where required, in the development of intelligence and management of the Bank’s position on specific cases
- Assisting with ensuring the timely dissemination of intelligence to relevant parts of the Barclays Group
- Preparing ad hoc projects and bespoke reports on sensitive cases as and when required
• Fluency in English language (written and verbal)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised and structured
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills both across teams, upwards throughout organisations (particularly those that operate complex matrices) and externally
• Experience of writing data scripts, such as VBA and SQL would be ideal
- Proven/ demonstrable analytical expertise in the field of complex, data-heavy/ intelligence-led investigations
- Proven exposure to Financial Crime intelligence or investigations, with a sound knowledge of financial crime threats, red flags and typologies
- Experience of working within a highly regulated environment along with a sound understanding of the current environment and key issue within financial services
