Purpose
Intelligence Analyst
ScottishPower HQ, Glasgow – hybrid working
From £34,400 + 10% Performance Bonus + Single Healthcare
Permanent, Full Time

Joining ScottishPower as an Intelligence Analyst you’ll lead on the collation and analysis of open-source intelligence (OSINT) to support and inform all areas within our Corporate Security function remit. You’ll prepare information management and reporting, in support of the Corporate Security departments objectives and responsibilities to inform strategic management, audit, planning and continual improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
The post holder will report into the Security Operations Manager and be responsible for creating products that will add value in strengthening our security posture, improvement of service, reduction of cost and so on.
Responsibilities included but not limited to
- To collate, evaluate, analyse, and disseminate information from a variety of OSINT sources with a view to compiling intelligence profiles/analytical reports.
- Provide subject matter expertise on a range of analytical techniques.
- Provide subject matter expertise in the analysis of operational data.
- To research and analyse information to ensure that up-to-date intelligence is maintained and prepare detailed written reports, charts, graphs, maps, and recommendations etc. on analytical issues to inform and brief management/tasking and co-ordinating groups.
- To operate a range of computer-based systems, having a heightened awareness of the sensitivity and integrity associated with data management.
- To attend meetings and forums as directed by the Security Operation Manger and provide briefings on analytical work performed.
- To respond to enquiries from authorised internal and external sources and liaise with external agencies as directed by the Security Operation Manger.
- Comply with the Government Protective Marking Scheme, Data Protection Act Guidelines, and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in relation to all aspects of this role.
- Responsible for assessing and self-managing risk within all aspects of the role.
Skills and Requirements
We’re looking for candidates who have 5 years + demonstratable experience within a similar role such as the police, military, or similar security position within a large geographical dispersed operation. As well as:
- Demonstrated knowledge & experience of working with Government Protective Marking Scheme documents
- Knowledge of the tools, techniques, and methodologies of abstraction and analysis
- Skilled in the development and implementation of intelligence strategies based on OSINT
- Knowledge of relevant UK legislation including Data Protection regulations relating to this role
- Proven track record in risk management and delivery of mitigations
You’ll have excellent IT skills and capacity for learning, as well as high level of emotional maturity and personal integrity, whilst being capable of building effective stakeholder relationships.
- Spanish language skills are an advantage.
