Overall Purpose

A varied role carrying out the day to day administration and finance tasks of a range of insurance companies and supporting the wider finance team.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensuring all documentation, correspondence and telephone calls are dealt with professionally, efficiently and accurately.
  • Accurately process payments and receipts, monitor cash balances, generate bank statements, update cashbooks and reconcile bank statements. Dealing with fixed deposits, including observing mandates, investment guidelines and board requirements.
  • Production and circulation of Board packs. Organising Board meetings, (booking meeting rooms and circulating availability for meeting dates).
  • Maintaining an electronic filing system for each client assigned and ensuring that any scanning has been reviewed before archived or shredded.
  • Interaction with various people in a professional manner. Primary relationships to be developed and maintained:-
  • Clients and client representatives
  • Board members
  • Banking/investment managers
  • Auditors
  • GFSC
  • Adherence to the Office Procedures Manual including preparation of risk assessment forms and completion of all necessary checklists.
N.B. This is not an exhaustive list and it is important for all staff to familiarise themselves with the team workflow process manuals and the Office Procedures Manual.


Qualifications and Experience

Previous financial or office related experience is desirable but not essential. Proficient working use of IT and the Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is essential.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous use of online banking platforms preferred but not required as training will be given.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication skills is essential.
  • Ability to use initiative, problem solve and follow procedure notes.
  • Sound organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks from beginning to completion.
  • A team player with a positive working attitude with enthusiasm and adaptability to change.
