Job Title: Insurance & Claims Assistant
Location: Hybrid working, home & BCA Hook, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
Working Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday

The Insurance and Claims assistant is an important role within the BCA Group Finance team and will report into the Insurance and Claims Manager. Managing the group’s insurance claims, liaising directly with the group’s insurers from notification to settlement as well as assisting with the groups day to day insurance requirements where necessary. The role requires good customer service and relationship building skills as well as excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Managing claims from notification to settlement in line with insurers to drive and derive the optimum settlement outcome.
- Collecting accurate information and documentation to proceed with and/or defend a claim.
- Monitoring the progress of a claim
- Manage uninsured loss recovery against third party insurers
- Building relationships with insurers, brokers, loss adjusters and solicitors
- Assist with internal claims reporting
- Review and report on claims trends to drive down the groups loss ratio
- Draft “Claims History” letters for Employees exiting the Company Car scheme
- Respond to DPA requests from insurance companies
- Where necessary liaise with HPI and or Insurance companies to obtain clearance on sale vehicles where an insurance company holds an interest
- Manage relationship with BCA’s accident management provider
- Assist with any insurance related projects
- Support the Insurance and Claims Manager in the day to day handling of the groups insurance requirements
To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you:
- Chartered Insurance Institute qualification at Certificate level
- Basic understanding of common law principles
- Good understanding of claims principles, particularly RTAs and Liability claims
- Experience in a claims handling role
- Extensive experience of MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Powerpoint
- Works well under time pressure and able to manage time and workload priorities
- Able to work well as a team
- Proactive
- Good oral and written communication
- Approachable, team player, excellent communicator

Working Hours
- Weekly 40hrs (Mon-Sunday 8-8pm) with the core hours Mon-Fri 8.30-5.30 and Evenings and weekends as operationally required.
- Bank Holidays are considered a normal working day
