Job summary

This role works to ensure global delivery of a range of activities (research partnerships, research capacity strengthening and expansion, and support for early and mid-career researchers) in Going Global Partnerships. This is both through supporting/advising countries/regions and leading the range of global activities.

Job description

You will Ensure global delivery of the Enabling Research strand of the Going Global Partnerships programme, including complex and innovative activities to support sustainable institutional partnerships in research and research capacity.


Delivery includes both ensuring consistent and quality activities across regional and country teams, and leading on the delivery of centrally/globally led activities.


Embed EDI, especially gender, throughout the Enabling Research strand of the programme.


Lead and manage the global EDI Review and Action Group to ensure that the whole programme embeds and strengthens EDI into the management, delivery and activities of the programme.


Accountabilities are, but are not limited to:


Programme management.

Manage the Enabling Research strand within the Going Global Partnerships programme.


Leadership & management

Support the professional development of team members globally through guiding them on the Enabling Research strand within the Going Global Partnerships programme.


Relationship and Stakeholder management.

Actively network and build trusted relationships with internal and/or external clients and partners to promote Going Global Partnerships’ impacts and interests.


Consultancy, analysis and problem solving.

Apply areas of expertise to build capability, embed/share good practice and improve performance globally within the Enabling Research strand of Going Global Partnerships


Commercial and financial management.

Manage the Income & Expenditure accounts for the centrally/globally led activities within the Enabling Research strand and contributes to business planning exercises.


Business Development.

Develop a sustainable global programme of interventions with partners with a view to growing the turnover and increasing sponsorship.

Person specification

  • Experience of managing projects in the higher education and/or science sectors.
  • Experience of managing internal stakeholders and working across multiple teams/regions effectively.
  • Knowledge of the UK science and research sector
