Your role at a glance

The Instrument and Reference Data Specialist will be a Services Function within Operations to provide an efficient and effective support and oversight service that remains aligned to the strategic goals of the department and business globally.

The primary function of the Instrument and Ref Data function is to ensure all retained services (TBD) and outsourced activities is effective managed and processed accordance with market deadlines and industry best practise, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and quality control.

What you'll be doing
  • Accountable for ensuring the timely processing of Instrument and Reference data retained activities (TBD) in line with market, regulatory and internal deadlines. Proactively working with LGIM stakeholders, Outsource Provider, and 3rd Parties to ensure all outsourced Data Operations' activities are managed.
  • Support the Instrument & Reference Data Manager and Head of Data Oversight in overseeing the service of the outsourced provider and that it meets the agreed service standards (incl. accuracy, timeliness, and client services measures).
  • Review and analyse the daily & weekly service delivery KPI / KRIs and escalate issues accordingly.
  • Review and analyse operational risk and issues within team and outsourced provider, regularly review and identify further opportunities for risk mitigation; ensure all functional procedures are in line with policies and regulatory requirements. Promptly and clearly articulate and inform senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive the development of the outsource model (focus on enhancing control effectiveness and efficiency).
What we're looking for
  • Demonstrated experience of the asset management industry/experience relevant to role.
  • Extensive knowledge in the outsourced service area covering operational service delivery knowledge and client expectations.
  • Industry awareness of the outsourced service area and regulations governing it.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing 3rd party relationship service delivery.
  • Strong influencing skills in managing relationship / client service engagement.
  • Proven experience in managing operational service matters, awareness risk and control framework would be desirable
  • Customer oriented skills to understand service recipient needs and expectations.
  • Proven capability to work both independently and across a team.
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, problem solving and organisation skills.
  • Evidence of high degree of independent judgment for decision making.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment. Having a positive attitude towards change.
  • Ability to work at different levels of detail, including a grasp of the bigger picture concepts and complex details.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-moving management environment with many often-conflicting demands.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications.
  • Experience of managing multiple initiatives/projects and change management.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to convey a vision to staff
  • Robust and persistent with a propensity to preserve.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation.
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs/goals
  • Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods & best practices.
  • Proficient Excel & Microsoft Office skills
