Projected Enrollment: 75

Number of Sections Available: 1

Projected TA Support: 2 @130 + 3 hours

Wage Rate: $8,056.37 as per schedule A of the current Collective Agreement.

Number of Units per Section: 3


Term: 2239 (Fall 2023) September 5 – December 12, 2023

Tentative Schedule*: Tuesdays, 2:30-5:20pm (2-hour lecture, 1-hour workshop)

Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties

This course offers instruction on a variety of professional communication formats and styles in a variety of media and communication contexts. The course will include lecture, workshop, and hands-on practice at writing and revision. Students will gain an advanced skill set and produce portfolio-level professional writing product.
Three hours (lectures and workshops); one term


Required Qualifications

Professional and educational background in the field, plus experience in classroom teaching. Applicants should have a PhD or be near completion (ABD) of a PhD in Communication Studies or a related field, or another graduate degree (e.g., MCM, MFA in writing) with significant experience in professional writing.


Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience in communication or media studies/arts is preferred.
