Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Analysis Engineer to join the Design & Analysis Group to provide stress and dynamics analysis to support the creation of high performance automotive, motorsport, aerospace, and marine aerospace products.
The Role:
- Carry out analysis of components and systems accurately and within project deadlines.
- Liaise with senior analysts, design engineers and/or external customers to define analysis requirements.
- Be able to exercise independent technical judgement using sound engineering principles and appropriate experience to select appropriate analysis methods and define boundary conditions where these are not specified.
- Understand and report on the limitations of the analysis method selected.
- Write technical reports, both for internal use and for customers.
- Communicate effectively with designers/customers to facilitate changes to designs or scope of work as analysis progresses.
- Support the development of new analysis processes and techniques.
- Create and publish new analysis tools as required.
- Follow all relevant Cosworth processes.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
- A Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) at 2:1 or above.
- Demonstrable experience in Powertrain Design or a similar industry involving complex assemblies.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis using Abaqus software.
- Ability to think creatively and provide solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Be flexible and able to operate well as part of a team in a fast-moving and demanding Engineering environment.
- Exceptional time management skills, adhering to project milestones.
