Want to Have Fun Gardening & Crafting with Elders, Few Hrs/Month & Be Paid?
Eldergrow is looking for our next friendly, nature-loving Educator near Okanogan in Moses Lake, WA area. If you enjoy gardening, helping others, flexibility when you choose to work and learning new things, then Eldergrow is perfect for you. You work just 7-8 hours a month per garden during the day to provide elders a therapeutic connection to nature by teaching classes using our mobile indoor garden that lives in long-term & memory care communities.
This is a fun and gratifying role that sometimes even includes chocolate (which comes from plants after all). An Eldergrow Educator's goal is to make connections with elders and build relationships with community staff. You must be friendly, outgoing, able to project your voice, caring, and comfortable around elders who have varied cognitive and physical needs. The best Educator candidates will have some gardening or basic plant-care skills and experience interacting with a vulnerable population like seniors, teaching young children, persons with disabilities, mental health conditions or addictions.

What does your time and pay look like?
Monthly stipend of $275 for about 13 hours of work (2 gardens)
- Two monthly sessions of gardening education & connecting with seniors per month (1.5 hours each, totaling 3 hours) for each of 2 communities in Moses Lake
- Take pictures and post-lesson garden maintenance (~1 hour each for a total of 2 hours)
- Picking up plants/supplies each month (1 hour)
- Monthly online Educator community training (1 hour)

Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with Elders or other vulnerable populations who may have both physical and cognitive limitations
- Moderate gardening /plant care skills
- Must have access to dependable internet, a computer, and printer for class documents.
- Smartphone- We require that educators take and upload photos after every class.
- Able to pass a background check to work with vulnerable populations
- Driver's license and insured vehicle required - you will drive to communities that engage our service and occasionally pick up gardening supplies.
- Willing to join and participate in our company Facebook group.
- Mild physical requirements include: 1) able to stand/move around the room for at least an hour 2) kneel/bend down to maintain the garden, 3) lift soil bags and 4) push the mobile garden (on wheels no lifting):
