Canadian International Student Services (CISS) is currently looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to fill teaching positions for our unique Global Leadership Course.
Teachers should be energetic, organized, creative, and team oriented. They will be passionate about guiding young people to realize their ambitions to become leaders and to make a positive impact on the world. They must be willing to embrace the diverse cultural environment we offer at our programmes.

JOB DETAILS:
$25/hour, 20 hours of lessons per week
Lessons times are from 9:15-1:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday each week (includes one 15-minute break each day)
Varying contract lengths are available from July 3 – August 11, 2023
Mandatory (paid) Training for teachers from June 28 – June 30, 2023

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is intended to provide students with essential communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. Teachers of this course, will enhance these competencies further by leading specialized workshops - each with a different subject focus. Students will be encouraged to discuss their ability to take positive action not only at local and global community levels, but within their immediate community at the CISS Toronto campus as well. The course concludes with students making presentations on action plans for projects they will pursue when they return home.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide a safe and welcoming learning environment.
- Encourage students to speak English at all times.
- Teach lessons that are inspiring, engaging, and relevant for teens.
- Encourage active student participation in lessons and presentations.
- Model positive behaviour.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory staff meetings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience teaching ESL
- Experience teaching teens aged 11-18 years
- Experience studying or teaching leadership programmes
- Valid First-Aid and CPR
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Bachelor of Education
- Passionate about helping youth succeed in their goals to make a difference in the world
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and a strong sense of responsibility
- Police Reference Check required

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
