QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
• Experience working with youth;
• Experience working with at-risk students in senior level courses would be an asset;
• Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset;
• Experience working in a self-paced, self-directed learning environment would be an asset;
• Experience working with First Nations students and integrating First Nations ways of knowing and doing into programming would be an asset;
• Ability to assist students in Grade 10-12 level Mathematics and Science courses is an asset.

  DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:

• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and other support staff;
• Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
• Ability to work as a member of a team;
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Able to prepare healthy snacks and lunches.

  CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Security Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to starting work;
• Food Safe Level I, or willingness to complete within 3 months;
• Standard First Aid Certificate, or a willingness to complete within 3 months;
• Completion of the Educational Assistant Module by the end of the 2023/24 school year.
