QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
- Experience working with youth;
- Experience working with at-risk students in senior level courses would be an asset;
- Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset;
- Experience working in a self-paced, self-directed learning environment would be an asset;
- Experience working with First Nations students and integrating First Nations ways of knowing and doing into programming would be an asset;
- Ability to assist students in Grade 10-12 level Mathematics and Science courses is an asset.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and other support staff;
- Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
- Ability to work as a member of a team;
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Able to prepare healthy snacks and lunches.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Security Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to starting work;
- Food Safe Level I, or willingness to complete within 3 months;
- Standard First Aid Certificate, or a willingness to complete within 3 months;
- Completion of the Educational Assistant Module by the end of the 2023/24 school year.
