Job Summary
As the appliance delivery and installer, you will be responsible for ensuring inventory is on hand, the delivery and proper installation of refrigerators and washing machines to customers participating in PG&E’s Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) Program and the California Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP). In this position, a focus is placed on proper and safe moving of appliances and on properly recycling old units. Also, you will be responsible for testing appliances to ensure they are working and educate the customer on the safe and proper operation of their new appliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully complete required training provided by Highlands Energy or vendors prior to starting work.
- Loading, unloading, and transporting appliances such as refrigerators and washers to customers or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
- Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most efficient route.
- Review schedule, work orders, and call customers prior to delivery with ETA.
- Able to deliver and install 8-12 appliances per day depending on the route of both programs.
- Complete installation and hookup, then test to ensure appliance is working prior to leaving.
- Ensure appliances installed in damp locations are plugged into a GFCI outlet.
- Always maintain high customer service standards and the good image of the company while at customers’ homes or the work area.
- Notify a supervisor or the schedulers of any customer concerns.
- Must be able to follow both program installation standards, local codes, and instructions as per manufacturer specifications to complete installation.
- Adhering to assigned schedule.
- Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
- Participate in all training sessions/meetings.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, policies, and regulations (including vehicle maintenance schedule and cleanliness policies).
- Report to work prepared and on time.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License with a clean DMV record.
- 1+ year of appliance delivery and installation experience required.
- Capable of working both indoors and outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability to read, analyzes, interpret, and identify, document and report information.
- Must meet quarters standards set by Management.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various equipment. Must be able to operate a pallet jack and forklift. Frequently have use of wrists, fingers, and hands to enter data into computer system. The employee will frequently be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
