Job Description:
As an Examiner you will be an integral part of our CBN team, visually inspecting securely printed documents and identifying print imperfections that fall outside of our quality standards. The work is vitally important as it ensures the quality and authenticity of national currencies, passports, driver’s licenses, and other secure documents that CBN produces for governments around the world.
- The rate of pay will be $18.57/hr (increasing to $23.21/hr after 24 months)

- This position will be part of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 772
In this position you will:
- Inspect printed documents (currencies, passports, driver’s licenses, tax stamps, etc.) and identify any flaws such as colour variations or print imperfections
- Perform a quality control function: if the flaw falls outside the quality standards, flag it to your supervisor for review
- Count printed work (sheets, books, cards) quickly and accurately to ensure the number of documents printed matches the number expected.

- Sound judgement and solid numeracy skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities
- Excellent attendance record
- Good colour vision
- Assets: computer skills, print knowledge and a quality control background.
Other job requirements:
- Eligible for Government of Canada Secret Level clearance.
- Able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, days, evenings and 12-hour shifts. These positions will likely be working on nights and weekends for a few years.
- Able to travel between our Ottawa production locations as required (Gladstone Ave and Richmond Rd)
- Able to work in a role requiring constant standing, sitting, walking, bending, and the ability to lift 25lbs on a regular basis. The work can be repetitive in nature.
