Insight and Research Executive - ICIS - 12 Month Maternity Cover - London / Hybrid

About the role:
Our success is based on the strategic value we are able to bring to our customers and the role of Customer Insight Executive will be vital to identifying this; by designing an audience-centric insight strategy, developing deep buyer insights through initiating, designing, delivering and facilitating the execution of the right customer understanding programs. Through the proprietary research and expert advice you are able to generate and provide to our business in this role, the right person will powerfully demonstrate their ability to help grow the business, innovate and to make it run more efficiently through a focus on deep-seated needs of those we serve in key markets worldwide.
Responsibilities:
Generating Deep Customer Insights to support ICIS business strategy:
- Broad understanding of and interest in our existing and new customer demographics
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of market research principles and techniques
- Collecting and interpreting customer and prospect data and insight, in order to deepen and broaden understanding of ICIS customer and marketplace across our business
- Ability to summarise deep buyer insights – based on customer research data and reports, defining and communication how our solutions can fit into users’ workflows and add value to what they do
- Be obsessed with understanding and improving how our customers engage with our brand, products and content. Build understanding the global commodities data and analytics marketplace and market segments
- Develop market intelligence and expertise on key industry sectors, buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria, including insight on competition
- Conduct customer experience journey maps, identifying key gaps and opportunities for improvement in partnership with stakeholders across the business – brokering consensus on customer experience improvement strategies and communicating these to the business
- Spending time with customers to help us better understand their needs and requirements to inform and support potential future data and analytics propositions and product enhancements or deliverables through the product lifecycle
- Summarise deep buyer insights – based on customer research data and reports - and understand how our value propositions in users’ workflows adds value
Key Skills Required:
- Ability to successfully collaborate, influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to efficiently summarise, articulate and communicate objectives and plans internally to ensure consensus
- Demonstrated skills in helping designing and executing programmes of customer research / customer experience improvements, insight that reflect our customers pain points and how they can be used in product innovation, launch / go to market approaches and in marketing communications through the lifecycle
- Numerical and analytical mindset – able to support market / customer research and analysis
- Solid project management, planning and organisational skills
- Result-driven and adaptive capacities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable writing reports and presenting to diverse audiences including senior executives
- Creative flair, curious mindset
- Thirst for customer understanding – inquisitive, always asking the why and the so what, what is behind the action, behaviour etc.
- Ability to handle a pressurised, fast-paced environment / juggling competing priorities
- A good listener who is very observant and open
- Flexible team player with the ability to work independently
- Several years of experience of brand tracking / qualitative and quantitative research projects
- Degree from a relevant university (e. g. Marketing / business/ Psychology /Economics / Communications etc.)
- Evidence of formal certifications / training in Market Research / Customer Experience Strategy and Management / Marketing
- Robust experience on defining and managing project deliverables
- Has excellent analytical and evaluation skills
- Robust experience in customer experience definition and management / marketing channel and campaign evaluation is a significant advantage
- Desirable but not essential: Experience in a B2B environment
