Job Description: Insight Analyst
Role Overview:
As a Insight Analyst with Intelligent Health, you will be at the forefront of shaping our organisation's success by serving as a strategic catalyst for data-driven decision-making. In this multifaceted role, you will support the development of our fast-growing customer insight consultancy, conducting primary research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. You will be outward facing working collaboratively with partners on problem-oriented research design, analytics and visualisation techniques to unearth valuable insights. Your work will span the realms of our own internal programme development, create market research for Intelligent Health and for clients, customer insights and behaviour change, as well as keeping abreast of industry research and trends . Through continuous learning and publishing of your research findings, you will contribute to our reputation and integrity as an industry leader. Your natural curiosity and passion to problem solve will help you lead projects from framing the problem through to insight led actions and evidenced impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Market & Sector Research: Work with the business development team to help devise attractive research and insight opportunities. Conduct comprehensive market research through surveys, focus groups/workshops, competitor analysis, and literature reviews, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gain insights into customer behaviour, preferences, and behaviour change.
Trend Analysis: Monitor industry trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging technologies to ensure our organisation remains competitive and adaptable in a constantly evolving market.
Customer Insights: Conduct primary research to gain a deep understanding of customer needs, behaviours, and feedback, both for external clients and internal purposes, enabling data-driven consultancy and problem-solving.
Problem Solving: Identify and address business challenges through data-driven solutions, troubleshooting issues, identifying improvement opportunities, and optimising processes, both for external clients and internal needs.
Data Analysis: Utilise statistical analysis, data visualisation techniques, and data analytics tools to extract meaningful insights, trends, and forecasts from participant datasets. Using these skills to evaluating the effectiveness of our programme of work.
Programme Development: Provide the evidence base necessary to support the development and continuous improvement of IH products and services. Plan and execute experiments to test the effectiveness of various strategies and implement feedback loops for ongoing data-driven decision-making.
Sharing our Evidence-Base: Build our reputation by sharing research findings especially in public health, collaborating with academic partners, presenting at conferences, publishing research, and writing articles to showcase our expertise and insights. Using our evaluation and insights to build a narrative that supports our programme goals and those of the client.
Continuous Learning: Prioritise your own continuous learning and have a strong appetite to challenge yourself and to invest in your own development. Support the creation and development of training and development initiatives related to research and insight to ensure the business stays current with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies in data analysis, market research, and primary research methods. Provide training and support to internal teams and clients, including dashboard usage.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and sales, to align data-driven insights with overall business goals and strategies, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and showcasing our impact through sales materials
Required Experience:
· Analytical skills – demonstrable success in gathering and drawing out impactful actionable insights from mixed Quantitative and Qualitative data sources.
· Research design and implementation - Strong proactive curiosity and critical thinking skills. An ability to help others to develop problem frames and research questions to then co-design and deliver primary research.
· Technical skills that mean you are comfortable working with data in its many forms to from its creation, extraction, manipulation, analytics and presentation. You will be secure in the use of statistics to help you understand your data and measure impact as part of your research.
· Proven experience in market research and conducting primary research related to behavioural science and behaviour change ideally in the pursuit of improving health and wellbeing.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
· Continuous learning mindset and demonstrated commitment to continued personal development.
· Ability to effectively communicate to different audiences. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills that mean you can communicate complex research to a lay audience as well as write and publishing academic research.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
· Experience in the presentation of data and research in engaging ways. This may include storytelling with data, video or media, infographics and other data visualisation techniques.
· Research design and implementation, including survey design, focus groups, facilitation, literature reviews. The publishing of research through academic channels such as journals.
· Degree level or higher where you have learned a mix of quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
· Project management skills meaning you are used to managing all aspects of a project including relationship management, time and resources.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Pro-social values and promotes inclusivity and diversity.
Desirable
· Behaviour change/marketing experience.
· Prior experience in public health.
· Prior experience education or physical activity sector.
· Masters or PhD qualified.

· Contract – Permanent, full-time (we encourage flexible working)
· 37 Hours of work per week – role includes some travelling and unsocial hours
· Annual leave: 23 days + Bank Holidays per annum
· Pension: 3% employer pension contribution.

· Location: Remote working with occasional office time based at Reading University Enterprise Centre, University of Reading Campus.
· Salary: £31,000-£35,000pa
· Role will report to the Head of Research & Insight
