ABOUT YOU:
As the Inhouse Legal Counsel specialist you are responsible to assist to review, support and secure the legal aspects of the businesses and operations in Ingka UK and Ireland within the framework of working defined by Ingka Group Legal & Governance.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This position is full time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Service Office principal location is Hybrid working a minimum of 8 days per calendar month in the office and the remainder flexibly working remotely at home.

ABOUT YOU:
As the Inhouse Legal Counsel specialist you are responsible to assist to review, support and secure the legal aspects of the businesses and operations in Ingka UK and Ireland within the framework of working defined by Ingka Group Legal & Governance.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCY REQUIRED:
- University degree in Law
- PQE minimum of NQ-3 years of professional experience as a Lawyer / Inhouse Legal Counsel
- Prior experience in property, and/or commercial contracts and/or litigation and/or financial services.
- Prior inhouse legal counsel experience preferably aligned to the retail, FMCG or Distribution sectors
- Data Protection experience is preferred although not essential
Responsibility to secure legal aspects of the businesses.
- Cooperate, and build good relations, with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents.
- Pro-actively support the management and other stakeholders in order to run the IKEA business and to secure the rights and assess the obligations in order to reduce exposure to legal risks and to optimise business opportunities.
- Active cooperation with Group Legal & Governance in order to secure alignment of country agenda.
- Implement standard processes and ways of working for the legal area in the Ingka Group.
- Contribute to, and support the implementation of the IKEA business plan.
- Develop competence and provide education to relevant stakeholders, such as in the area of laws and regulations.
- Keep updated in relevant international and local legal and governance developments, including changes in international, domestic and case law and regulations.
