The Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team at PDSA enable the needs of over 2,000 colleagues and 3,000 volunteers across 160 UK hospitals, shops, and hundreds of homes across the country, supporting our Veterinary experts to treat almost half a million pets each year. And we are going to do more!
In 2022, we created our new DDaT directorate with a new strategy to transform the organisation. We created our first Digital team, Business Partnering and Service teams, expanded our technical teams, and started to consolidate subject matter expertise.
In 2023, we have started our multi-million-pound transformation programme, and this year will be completely replacing our network with a modern SD-WAN, migrating our on-premise architecture to 100% cloud, create a new web architecture platform, and strengthen our telecoms and security capabilities. Later this year, we'll start work on our new data capabilities and insight services.
We're investing significantly in our internal teams to be able to deliver and support this transformation, shifting the balance of responsibility to PDSA colleagues, ably supported by partners.
At this time, we are increasing our team with another 10 posts, to further extend our ambition to grow our technical capability.
This advert is an opportunity to join us on this journey as one of our Infrastructure Engineers. You'll be joining a well-established team of 5 covering key responsibilities such as the deployment, support and continued improvement of our infrastructure, networking and security services You'll report to the IT Infrastructure & Security Manager who reports to the Director for Digital, Data and Technology.
You will engage in projects delivering leading technology solutions and support the organisation to be successful every day.
To succeed, you will have proven success in working with infrastructure technology including an expert technical understanding of Microsoft cloud-technologies and on-premise.
You will also need technical knowledge in a number of the following areas:
- Secure Systems design
- Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud
- Desktop & Server OS
- OS Support
- Virtualisation
- Storage/SANs & Backup/Recovery
- Business Continuity
- Networking
