Role: IT Feild Services Engineer
Location: Remote in the South West
Start Date: April-May
Our client, a Managed Service Provider, is looking for a motivated and outgoing Field Services Engineer to join their company. This is a remote role that will require you to visit clients from time to time. Therefore, the successful applicant will have a valid driver's license and access to their own vehicle. They will also be located within the South-West so that they can visit clients on short notice if required. We are looking for someone who wants to progress and grow in the role, someone who loves working closely with clients and solving problems.
Responsibilities:
- Providing on-site technical support to clients at their premises, including hardware, software, and network support. This may involve troubleshooting issues with laptops, desktops, printers, routers, switches, and other equipment
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software systems
- Working with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Assisting with project work
- Escalating complex issues to senior technical staff or third-party vendors as required, and working with them to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
- Providing timely and accurate updates to clients and colleagues regarding the status of ongoing issues, and ensuring that clients are kept informed
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of technical support issues and resolutions, and ensuring that this information is kept up-to-date in our ticketing system
- Providing remote technical support to clients when required, using tools such as remote desktop access or phone support
- Conducting site surveys and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement in clients' IT infrastructure, and making recommendations to clients for changes that can improve their IT systems and processes
- Supporting clients with the implementation of new hardware and software systems, ensuring that they are properly installed and configured, and that users are trained on how to use them effectively
- Adhering to Inflection Point's policies and procedures for IT support, and ensuring that clients are satisfied with the service they receive from us
Skills, Traits and Qualities:
- At least 3 years experience in IT support
- Experience working for a Managed Service Provider
- Full UK Drivers License and access to own vehicle
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products
- Experience in server and network administration
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
