Reports to Head of IT
Job Purpose:
- The IT Apprentice will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to other members of the IT team. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related activities.
Main Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Dealing with and resolving helpdesk requests
- Escalating IT issues to the 3rd parties or 2nd Line IT Technician where necessary
- Responsible for managing backups and tape rotation
- Diagnosing and resolving technical problems as methodically and efficiently as possible
- Supporting and maintaining MS Server 2012/Desktops (Win7, Win10) and MS Exchange (2013)
- Setting up and configuring new user accounts including hardware/software installs.
- Completing internal user moves including IP Avaya desk/DECT phones
- Patching of network and phones
- Ensuring all logs for equipment and users are maintained
- Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes
- Maintaining user boxes on printers, including printer support
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Providing assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
- Ensuring that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of Windows operating system
- Able to use MS office packages effectively
- Knowledge of technology sector
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Apple iOS (iPad & iPhone)
