Cornwall Health Library provides health information and resources to healthcare staff and students across the county of Cornwall. We pride ourselves on contributing to patient care by offering evidence and training to our diverse user groups which include; all NHS staff roles, general practitioners, hospice staff, paramedics and medical, dental, nursing and midwifery students.. The main library is based in the Knowledge Spa on the Royal Cornwall Hospital site and provides a physical space that supports our users’ work, learning and wellbeing .
Our library team is friendly and works hard to support each other. We need a new team member with a library qualification or other relevant experience to help us provide our excellent service.
The role is focussed on:
- Retrieving the best evidence through searching a range of resources to inform patient care, service provision and research.
- Teaching search and critical appraisal skills,
- The postholder will work towards carrying out systematic literature reviews and offering expertise and teaching in the critical appraisal of research.
- Pro-actively identifying and leading on engagement opportunities.
This is an exciting role, where the post-holder will have the opportunity to develop their library and leadership skills whilst supported by a knowledgeable and caring team.
This post will be based in Cornwall Health Library on the Treliske site in Truro for 2.5 days per week.

Take specific responsibility for providing library services to NHS users and stakeholders.
Contributing to library strategic planning for the service as a whole as part of the Library Management Team
Responsible for design, delivery and promotion of library teaching & training programme
Responsible for implementation and administration of systems allowing access to full text electronic resources
Research support including undertaking literature searches, assisted searches and systematic reviews
