About the Role

Here at Darlington Building Society, we have an experienced IT & Business Transformation team who are committed to ensuring the security of the society for its member and colleagues. To ensure this is at the forefront of the company we are recruiting for a Information Security Manager.

To work as part of our IT & Business Transformation team we are looking for someone who has detailed experience and knowledge of working in a similar role

The Information Security Manager will manage operational security issues. The particular focus of the role is the management of Darlington Building Society security systems considered business as usual (BAU) together with monitoring the systems for compliance with Society’s Security Policy and raising risks as necessary.

The main areas of the role’s work include assisting in the formulation of and monitoring the application of system security policies, embedding information security best practices in the company’s business operations, assessing/auditing third-party security, managing breaches of security and ensuring that our process complies with relevant legislation and standards.

It will be part of your role to lead and mentor your team. Any initiatives around data management, including innovation and quality of data, will be governed by yourself and the team that surrounds you.

  • Experience within a regulated, and ideally financial, environment
  • An understanding of the requirements for government security in internet-connected wide area networks
  • Experience in identifying areas of risk and proposing suitable and proportionate controls to a variety of audiences.

Salary: £42,765 to £48,336 Dependent on experience
