Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Information Security professional to join us as an Information Security Engineer in the IT team.
The role offers somebody to help shape and influence information security decisions and implementation within the organisation. NCFE maintains an ISO 27001 certification and Cyber Essentials, which demonstrates its commitment to strong information security practices that you’d be expected to follow.
You’ll be engaging in a varied set of responsibilities which include:
- Identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in our software, infrastructure, and cloud estate
- Collaborating with various teams and departments to guide them through security best practice and adherence to our certifications
- Designing and documenting processes and procedures to empower other teams within IT
- Proactively defending against, and responding to, security events in the organisation.
- Pro-active, adaptable, and self-driven approach to work
- Comfortable communicating with external & internal stakeholders
- Understanding of the ISO 27001 standard & Cyber Essentials framework
- Strong background or knowledge of infrastructure, software development and cloud-based technologies (Azure & AWS)
- Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff
- For professional development, this role provides opportunities to pursue information security-based certifications such as ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, CISSP, CEH etc. if not already obtained.
- Since the role involves implementation of information security initiatives across the whole organisation, the successful candidate will work in multiple projects and with many stakeholders to support in embedding these practices.
- You'll also have exposure to the wider NCFE IT estate, including Software Delivery, Infrastructure and Cloud Based Services.
