Who we are looking for

A Cloud Security Engineer who will be analysing, designing and implementing security tooling and controls to meet security and compliance mandates.

Cloud Security is a new team working within the wider Information Security department.

You will be responsible for ensuring security is considered across all cloud platforms including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with experienced professionals to shape the security of our cloud posture.

Working closely with the Cloud Platform team and other Information Security colleagues, you will ensure use cases are implemented securely and all security tooling is appropriate and working efficiently.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Working knowledge of cloud platforms and the technologies that make them work including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure or Microsoft365 are advantageous.
Strong knowledge of implementing cloud security best practices, cloud security posture management and IAM controls.
Working knowledge of cloud incident response planning, security event management, tooling and detection.
Strong background working in enterprise infrastructure, ideally with experience of Microsoft Windows Server or Linux Operating systems.
Knowledge and understanding of network protocols, data flow analysis and network design.
Extensive experience in a security position, including working with at least one cloud platform.
Demonstrable experience applying security risk assessment methodologies
Knowledge and experience of scripting, infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform.
Knowledge of security industry practices and standards applying them to cloud services.

Main Responsibilities

Providing engineering oversight and direction for specific cloud security technologies and ensuring all Cloud services are secure by design.
Reviewing existing toolsets, identifying operational gaps and recommending security enhancements.
Investigating opportunities to update security system capabilities to sustain and enhance network and system security integrity.
Supporting and consulting with stakeholders on security matters.
