An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Infant Feeding Support Worker to join our forward thinking Infant Feeding Team.
We wish to appointment an Infant feeding support worker to join the Infant feeding team to help support infant feeding within the inpatient maternity wards, Ninewells Hospital and potential for community shifts. Working positively to influencing breastfeeding attrition rates and reducing rates of re-admission to hospital with feeding challenges. In addition to providing tailored individual support and information for women however they choose to feed their baby.
The successful candidate will be supported by both the Infant Feeding Team and the maternity/neonatal staff within our inpatient wards. Candidates should have a proven track record of supporting women with infant feeding and will demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative managing their workload effectively.
We require an NVQ3 or equivalent experience and must also have sound, current knowledge of best practice in infant/breast feeding.
Responsible to the Band 7 Infant Feeding Advisors, you will have a key role for promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding complying with Baby Friendly practice standards across Tayside Maternity Services.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
