Exciting opportunity to join Chesterfield Royal Hospital Midwifery Team as an Infant Feeding Lead on a 15 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave
Chesterfield Birth Centre provides co-located midwife and consultant led labour ward facilities, which include 4 birthing pools.
Our maternity inpatient ward offers a calm and welcoming environment for women and their families.
We also have a Community Midwifery service centred around 4 local bases /GP surgery providing care for around 2500 women per year.
We are a fully accredited Baby Friendly unit.
We have an established infant feeding service which provides, antenatal breast feeding conversations within the community, inpatient hospital based feeding support and post natal support and guidance.

Job Summary
Act as the Specialist Midwife in relation to infant feeding across the Maternity Services, including community midwifery, ensuring a co-ordinated approach to infant feeding support.
Provide expert knowledge as a clinical educator in the promotion and support of evidenced based infant feeding management. You will have a high level of relevant expert knowledge and skills which you will use to manage, develop, and lead the clinical team in all aspects of the infant feeding service within the Family Care Division.
To ensure all staff are able to support mothers and their families in their choice of infant feeding.
Lead on the planning, implementation, maintenance, and reaccreditation of UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards across the service.
