Industrial Engineer

Role:

Hearn Industrial Services, a leading service provider to the automotive industry, is seeking an intermediate Industrial Engineer to join the team in Detroit, MI

This is a permanent position is based in Canton, MI. The qualified candidate will need to have automotive industry experience (preferably in supply chain or logistics) with strong communication and relationship building skills. The position offers growth potential and a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities:

· Implement plant layout, process flow, and material handling techniques

· Plan and establish sequence of operations- picking, sorting, sequencing

· Proficient in AutoCAD

· Develop standard time studies using either MODAPTS, MOST or MTM-UAS based upon the standards used

· Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, process flows, PFMEA’s

· Maintain and submit daily/weekly/monthly activity reports and project status

· Perform all activities necessary to support assigned area, providing timely response to all requests

· Assure assigned projects are accomplished within projected time and approved costs

· Prepare and submit necessary paperwork for equipment, machinery, and facilities acquisition including justifications and economic analysis

· Initiate and implement cost reduction programs

· Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems

· Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards

· Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards

· Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities

Qualifications:

· Preferred (but not required) Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Process Engineering

· 5-7 years of experience in the automotive industry experience in supply chain or logistics

· Highly motivated, with strong communication and relationship building skills

· Proficiency in AutoCAD

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
