Job description
Could you befriend and support a child in care?
We are looking for volunteers for our Independent Visitors Project in Swindon!
Independent Visitors are volunteers who befriend and spend time with a child or young person within Local Authority care. Our volunteers enjoy the challenge of building a lasting friendship and the children benefit greatly from a consistent, fun relationship with someone outside the care system.
This is a long-term, one to one commitment.
Full training and on-going support will be given, and out of pocket expenses paid for mileage and activities. Please note that if you intend to use your vehicle, all Coram Voice workers using their vehicles for work purposes require to have a business car insurance cover. If you will be using your vehicle for work purposes, which includes transporting a child or vulnerable person, we are able to provide a letter stating the nature of the volunteer work which you will be using the vehicle for, which usually means that your insurance provider will offer this additional business cover at either no or a very small cost.
Please note that using a vehicle for work is not a requirement for this role
To apply for the role, please click on the apply now button to be redirected to the application form.
Please note this is a rolling recruitment, so please make your application now and we will arrange interviews with prospective candidates as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please call 01793 487490
