The National Resilience Team at Victim Support is growing – there are now a number of exciting opportunities available.
We are looking for qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs) to support victims of crime virtually (on screen or by phone) throughout England and Wales.
All members of our team are home working, based in the UK, working full-time (37.5 hours a week) or part-time (from 22.5 hours a week).
Our home-based team work remotely alongside local Victim Support teams to help them deliver high quality services and to meet demand).

About the role:
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will be:
- carrying a caseload of clients within a virtual deployment to a local Victim Support area
- prioritising high risk cases and providing a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention service
- providing support to victims through individual safety and support planning, based on needs and risk assessments
- working within multi-agency frameworks to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
- working with colleagues to support the delivery of the National Resilience service
You will need:
- a current IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) training certificate
- experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic violence, domestic abuse or similar trauma
- experience of putting into practice the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- experience of safeguarding issues and legislation and of working with confidential and sensitive data
- excellent communication skills and good IT skills
- access to a private home working space where you can ensure confidentiality
