Housing Officer: Rental Income Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a highly established Housing Association for a Housing Officer: Rental Income role on a temporary basis for 6 months to join their team in Oxfordshire.
Location: Hybrid working on site in Oxfordshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: 8:30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
Length: 6 months temporary
Daily duties:
- Provide front-line rental income services and advice to existing and potential tenants, or their representatives
- To be responsible for providing a responsive and pro-active service to residents in general needs, supported and sheltered housing
- Pro-actively work with agencies and colleagues to ensure tenants’ income is maximised
- Handle enquiries from tenants, keeping them informed at all times of progress in relation to their accounts and queries
- Identify households in need of specialist support and work collaboratively with the Welfare Benefit, Tenancy Support services or wider agencies to help tenants to sustain their tenancy
- Take the appropriate legal action in relation to cases of arrears. Attending court and evictions as necessary
Essential Requirements:
- Recent and relevant experience in housing management, rental income recovery or similar services (including legal experience)
- Good knowledge of housing and welfare benefit issues
- High standard of IT skills including; Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
