What you will be doing...

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference, wants to build relationships across the entire organisation and is happy to challenge others thinking. This role will be working on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Due to the strategic nature of the role, the role delivery requires a proactive long-term approach with the ability to drive multiple initiatives which will create positive cultural change. You will also need to present progress against the plans to the Board on a quarterly basis.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Developing RUK’s diversity & inclusion strategy and identifying key D&I initiatives which will drive an inclusive culture
  • Overseeing and implementing D&I actions for key people processes (Attraction, Recruitment, Talent, Reward, Learning) working closely with SME’s to identify the key focuses in D&I interventions
  • To support the HRBP’s, through providing subject matter expertise, on developing Divisional Diversity action plans to ensure the business is accountable for driving change
  • To collaborate with the learning team to support the design and delivery of key diversity & inclusion training to ensure D&I is embedded into our learning programmes
  • To be responsible for developing and co-ordinating RUK’s mentoring programmes (internal & external) which specifically relate to D&I
  • Developing RUK’s wellbeing strategy and identifying key wellbeing initiatives to support physical, mental and financial wellbeing
  • To lead the annual wellness plan, including internal communications thereof, ensuring a return on investment and positive impact of initiatives whilst enhancing employee engagement
  • To support the achievement of business standards and external awards to ensure the Company remains competitive, supporting its aims of being an Employer of Choice.

You will ideally have...


  • Graduate Calibre
  • Ideally CIPD Qualified
  • Extensive knowledge of D&I and HR practice
  • Excellent communication skills, at all levels
  • Good aptitude for producing reports and correspondence for a variety of audiences
  • Excellent organizational skills for the management of key initiatives
  • Previous experience of managing cross functional teams
  • Good customer service skill, for both internal and external customers
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of change management principles
