An Import, Export Administrator position has become available within one of our busy operational hubs at Gosport in Hampshire!
The position will form part of a very busy and diverse Importing and Exporting Team to provide the day-to-day hands on management of importing, exporting and subsequent distribution of parts in support of Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), programmes and contracts
Responsibilities:
Analysing import documentation in line with the import process, to include the utilisation of various Boeing software tools – Providing customs clearance instructions to the nominated customs broker.
Liaising with freight forwarders to ensure successful delivery to the nominated POC’s assigned to each programme.
Attending UK Global Trade Controls Internal Control Plan briefs
Maintaining a live import register to include all imports details. Checking customs C88 forms against issued instructions. Recording any specific licence details.
Recording any temporary/carnet imports in the temporary import/export log, updating the outwards processing log for any OP imports.
Requesting customs post entries with the nominated customs broker and recording this in the post entry log.
Completing the fortnightly import/export spend report for freight charges as provided by Freight Forwarders.
Process IP regimes through CDS.
Liaise with the Transportation Lead and provide shipping updates where required.
Resolving any shipping issues which may require amended documentation, stock investigation and notification to nominated customs broker for audit and/or post entry action.
Processing invoices for import/export customs brokerage
Filing all required import documentation hard copies, signed commercial invoices, delivery notes etc.
Support the Data Analytics providing import packs to the Data Capture System and updating required data fields.
Checking and updating the SAL register for any losses that may have duty liability.
Supporting Global Trade Controls for any audits or customs requirements.
Adhering to BDUK import process as authored by Global Trade Controls.
Providing adequate instruction and notification of dangerous goods to the warehouse, supply chain and REACH.
Completing export requests to ensure that all details are consolidated to enable a compliant export. This includes but is not limited to: requesting and confirming the Military List Ratings, UK Security Grading and commodity codes. Liaising with the requestor to ensure all required details are correct. Recording the details on the export request form.
Making export bookings with the assigned freight forwarder/s, customs broker whilst including the relevant supply chain personnel.
Applying the accurate export licence and customs procedure code and recording and updating this in the export log and export licence register.
Checking programme related documentation for exports, assigning BDUK references and updating in the export log and licence register.
Creating commercial invoices as required
Adhering to IATA dangerous goods regulations for dangerous goods by air. Packing in accordance with the regulations and creating shippers declarations for dangerous goods as required.
Adhering to export processes as authored by Global Trade Controls and HMRC.
Essential Competencies
Possess an entry level of knowledge of import / export customs regulations
A basic working knowledge of supply chain accounting functions to successfully resolve any problems that arise
Have a good understanding of root cause analysis techniques to determine solutions and corrective plans as required
Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously within a team with a minimal amount of supervision
Competent user of all Microsoft Office applications. (Word. Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
Preferred Competencies
Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
Working knowledge regarding the movement of dangerous goods by road, air and sea
