Job title: Production Controller

General Summary

In this role, you’ll be responsible for production control of purchase ordered titles from receipt of files to delivery, coordinating schedules, managing specific customer and co-edition print runs and negotiating additional costs. Therefore, you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both in-house departments and external suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Progress and chase all files, plotters, approvals and advances from publishing, printers and the studio; and to check all files prior to press to ensure that they are quality checked and meet quality standards.
- Working towards agreed speed, service and quality targets.
- Negotiate schedules with suppliers, studio artworkers and customers to ensure you still meet the expected delivery dates.
- Where possible troubleshoot delays or file problems until they are successfully resolved.
- Ensure our database is continually updated with the correct key milestone dates paying attention to the completion dates
- Negotiate additional marketing costs with the printer
- Work with our suppliers to ensure quality standards are met without jeopardising the schedule
- Managing workflows and identifying ways to continually improve processes
- Ensure your final product meets Igloo’s quality and standards
- Working as an enthusiastic and cooperative team player with colleagues
- Communicating effectively to provide first-rate customer service for internal and external contacts
- Supporting with any other requirements the team may have
Qualifications and Experience
- Negotiation skills
- Microsoft Office
- Time management
- Attention to detail and a creative eye for detail
- An understanding of pricing and our marketplace
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills as well as a can-do attitude
- Project/category management project experience over several projects
- Experience in solution finding/trouble shooting
- Building mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
