Job description

Available Job Today Work with DWP colleagues from across the department and other key stakeholders to agree, document and identify an RBAC solution for DWP, enabling and leading the discovery of the programme, and translating the business problem and user needs into a set of detailed requirements for the solution.

Rate £600 per day inside IR35.

You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary management team, you will work alongside the programme lead, other business analysts and users as part of the project. You will be working closely and liaising with wider representatives within the department.

Key experience and qualifications required

  • Can work within a multidisciplinary team across digital and non-digital channels, building relationships and working closely with policy, security and other expert colleagues.
  • Make sure solution is fit for purpose and meets project outcome objectives.
  • Delivers analysis and information that addresses stakeholder needs and provides recommendations.
  • Able to demonstrate working understanding of design, technology and data principles. Understands the variety and complexity of users’ and business' needs and how the solution will meet those needs.
  • Lead workshops, focus groups and apply other techniques to effectively understand and capture the business problems and user needs.
  • Translate business problems and user needs into detailed requirements for a solution that aligns to best practice methodology, with appropriate use of epics, features, user stories and defined acceptance criteria.
  • Guides others on approaches to understand user stories. Identifies and engages with users / stakeholders to collate user needs evidence, and understands and defines research which fits user/stakeholder needs.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment across business and technical stakeholders, and ensuring issues and risks raised are resolved in an appropriate manner.
  • Document and consult on requirements in a layout and format that can be easily understood by all stakeholders,
  • Capturing user needs using the "as a..., I can...., so that..." syntax and defining appropriate acceptance criteria using the "GIVEN, WHEN, THEN" syntax.
  • Ensure that the principles of the INVEST model are understood and followed

Working arrangements


Start no later than 1 June 2023 for 5 months.

Working arrangements will be a blend of remote working and working from the Manchester Hub site, you will spend roughly 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home.
