Hybrid - User Research Assistant (Gaming)
Contract – 9 Months Temporary
Resource Solutions are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic User Research Assistant to join our client Warner Bros in London, who is passionate about all things gaming!! Are you a recent graduate within the social sciences, human-computer interaction space or related fields? Then we want to hear from you. We are keen to speak with candidates who have some experience working within Research who understand the Marketing strategy for targeted audiences within gaming and the importance of collating data and findings to improve its end ambition.
As a User Research Assistant, you will moderate groups (4 – 20 participants) through test sessions on console, PC, and mobile products where data is collected on our games. You will observe participant behaviour and communicate that information to the research team. You will receive training for many of the necessary skills; however, knowledge of research practices with people is critical.
Your Role Accountabilities:
· Prepare and execute research studies.
· Support lead researchers in all tasks, including the setup of labs and procedures
· Administer each playtest in a non-biased manner
· Regularly submit notes/observations for each test
· Recruit the necessary amount and participant profile for each study
· Develop and evolve the playtest recruitment database
· Maintain the inventory of gratuities (games and gift cards), forecasting when new stock is needed
· Special projects on occasion (data entry and analysis, presentations to stakeholders, recruiting events, game teardowns, etc.)
Qualifications & Experience:
· Education - Pursuit or completion of higher education qualifications in social sciences, human-computer interaction or related fields, or equivalent industry experience.
· Comfortable speaking in front of group, to give instructions and training.
· Experience moderating large groups effectively without supervision
· Excellent organisational and communication skills.
· Comfortable with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Able to adapt and quickly learn when faced with a large variety of problems.
Bonus Points:
· Knowledge of research design in qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research
· Familiar with game design theory and the development process for video games
· Research experience with children and early childhood development is a plus though not necessity
· Genuinely enjoy gaming in all forms!
